hey guys

some people wanted to know what in the name of god was going on in fbla so here's the deal (w/ bits of background and commentary)

the whole thing is kinda funny and i saw it coming a bit because at the beginning of this week, kahler was in a crazy good mood- like it was concerning how positive he was being

and then on wednesday, we had our officer meeting- usually this meeting is first block only, then i go to solar car meeting

we were talking about rlc and everything was fine, we were figuring out what was done/handled and what was still a wip he kept talking about how important it was that we communicate with one another (foreshadowing) and make sure everyone is on the same page

1st block ends, i pack up my bag, he says "yeah no that's not happening, cancel whatever you need to do and stay down here"

naturally i say, "i have a club though" and senior liaison says, "i run a club i need to go do that" and kahler says, "nuh uh"
so we stay
stupidly

i do absolutely nothing the entire time, chatting with tar on the multinode chat and zoning out since there was nothing i could really do

i was sorted, my stuff was handled, i had it under control
i will agree with what probably was his logic- we should all hear what's going on (communication like before) but i don't want to sacrifice every waking moment to this club

later that night, i got a text message in the gc from regionals planner (RP)- "who's doing this event, who had the spreadsheet?"
so i sent him the spreadsheet i made and he sent me the one he was looking at

and i found a shit ton of things that were wrong
naturally i insulted the person who made the spreadsheet, the formatting was god awful

there were new people added to this list that i had never seen the names of prior, some people's events randomly
changed without notice, that type of thing

i spent a good hour and a half finding the problems and making sure everything was actually fine, and eventually had a short list of people who's teams were wrong and people who'd been added late

twas fine but that's besides the point

thursday morning, i assume RP went to talk to kahler about the spreadsheet as he said he would, and i went about my normal life with no intent of speaking to kahler

i had even made a new text chain with all of the officers (and extra people for rlc) so he could communicate
information with us

what happens that day?

apparently, he decides that he wants all of the officers to meet in his room to work on rlc
did he tell literally anyone about this?
i don't know- maybe one or two people, but did they tell everyone else? no.

so nest begins, i stay in warrilow's room doing physics, 2nd block starts, still staying in warrilow's room, and i get
a text from kahler to the chat

"I'm not doing any work on region three RLC anymore. In fact, I'm canceling it."

naturally i turn to tar immediately and spill the tea because i cannot keep my mouth shut about fbla, it's literally in my job description to yap about it

then the bell rings and sysop, tar, and i all go to ap world

kahler sends yet another text about going to Carroll for all fbla stuff going forwards, which means what?
bro quit his own club

of course, i was thinking- "that's a bit of an overreaction"
he is a grown adult dealing with a bunch of teenagers whose brains are not fully done developing
he willingly chose to be a teacher and work with kids, then gets pissed off because he works with kids?
you cannot be throwing, as yaanip put it, a "total hissy fit"

i will admit- there is a lot of work to do for rlc, and we have quite a few less than competent officers
we've been adding more officers to the team as time went on and then some people keep doing less and less work, getting away with it bc others make up for it

i think the greater issue is that he keeps comparing us to last year's team and rlc, which, he'd have more competent officers if he did interviews rather than a whole job application/speech thing
(we had to turn in a resume and this one document with 15 signatures required) my second point with rlc, this year's conference is supposed to be an even larger scale with more people and more plans, and we have (/don't have) two things:
1. a bunch of new officers who don't have this type of direct managerial experience
2. a singular competent president who does most stuff by herself, compared to last year's president, co-president, and senior liaison did a lot of work together to make rlc happen

he also gives his officers no authority to do literally anything, the only one with any voice is the president, and i think he puts way too much stuff on her anyways

besides that, my inside informer (person who will not be named) told me that apparently he fully left the school yesterday after sending the texts that were soaked with disappointment and whatever

our weekly friday meeting got cancelled and apparently we're having an officer meeting in carroll's room, and then i
got here this mornin and lo and behold, no kahler! weird, right?

if you remember at the start, i mentioned i kind of saw this whole thing coming i expected him to not show this
morning, he can't have a total meltdown like that and then show up and everything is okay

i was scared he'd yell at me today or something

but yeah, i think he like- fully quit fbla now so that's just a thing
he's gonna be so obnoxious about it next week i bet

i don't wanna be dealing with this nonsense either, i woke up this morning feeling like i crawled out of some victorian era crypt

my sleep schedule is actual trash this week, i have a bunch of stuff coming up in the next 2 weeks, don't even mention the physics work :(

i'm so cold right now

but yeah, that's fbla for you guys
if anyone (datbirbdude) wants to hear even more detail than this, please let me know (i'm dying to use swear words pls birb)

tldr- kahler is a hypocrite, threw a tantrum, and then quit fbla and (apparently) cancelled regionals

and found president doing what? her club, isntead of rlc prep that he did not tell her he wanted her to do
